The Twelve Days of (a Wishbook) Christmas!

From the title, you probably have already figured out where this post is going.  So let's just skip to the twelfth day and be done with it already!

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me.......
Twelve drummers drumming.....

Eleven pipers piping......

Ten lords a sleeping.....

Nine ladies dancing....

(A close up of some the ladies!)

Eight candle kits for making....

Seven Rockets a blasting.....

Six barbies skiing.......

Five golden rings!!

Four sewing machines.....

Three toy forts.....

Two turtledoves......

And a game of pong by an artificial tree!!!!!!!

Yep, all of these fine pics of Americana were taken exclusively from the Christmas catalogs of the 70s!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!

  1. My brother had that 8.88 model airplane, but he didn't get that for Christmas. He only flew that once or twice and it got broke. Try getting a .049-engined plane like that for 8.88 today.

    1. Your family had the planes, we had the rockets. I still remember getting them setup on a cold Christmas morning, launching them....and watching them crash!! Yeah we had some rather spectacular disasters.

  2. We had model rockets, too, usually by Estes. My brother and I both built one in school. We had several of those. I even had the Estes Mean Machine which was a 6-foot tall rocket.

    1. That's a monster! I can't remember one that big. We had the replica of the Saturn V. However it was a bit of a disappointment - too slow. The best ones were the small rockets with the amped up engines. Even better were the ones with capsules where you could put bugs as astronauts!
